from Ramauli Tiomaria Simarmata to Maria Bernard

Early 2004: I visited Maria in Jakarta, Indonesia, during the week of Valentines Day. We are still waiting for INS/Homeland Security to approve my petition for Fiancé Visa. They cashed my check for the application processing fee on April 6th. Their status message continues to indicate that it's currently taking 5 to 6 months to process and approve fiance visas. This makes it difficult to make wedding reservations. Please pray that my fiancé can continue in her patience (as she really wants to fly to Oregon and marry me soon.

July 19th, 2004: Maria checked the INS website and called me with good news:
"Application Type I129F, Petition For Fiancé Current Status: This case has been approved. On July 15, 2004, an approval notice was mailed."

September 13th, 2004: Maria has her Fiancé Visa. Her extended family had a going-away party and time of prayer yesterday. She should arrive in Portland, Oregon, on the morning of Tuesday the 28th. Two families at my church are excited to host her for the seven weeks before our wedding at my church in Oregon City on Saturday, November 20th at 2 PM.

November 28th 2004: Maria and I are married and back from our honeymoon! Maria is now making an attractive and hospitable home out of my new apartment and all our many gifts.

May 2005: Ultrasound: It's a girl! Due date is mid-September.

July 2005: Our daughter's name is Winona Katherine Bernard.
